Mission

1. Fellowship – It is important to establish a sense of community among those who participate, a sense of belonging, a safe place. It is also important to establish something that is ongoing, that doesn’t have to get recreated with each new production. This will allow people to be free to express themselves not only through the dramatic arts but also on a personal level.
2. Training: It is our desire to improve in our craft so that we can be a catalyst-an accelerating agent in the combination of two elements – in bringing people closer to the Lord. As we improve our skills, we can be more effective in delivering the message of our art.
3. Do Drama: We desire to do drama. This is the common point that draws us all together in this ministry. We desire to perform all styles of drama, including comedy, serious drama, monologues, human videos, short sketches and longer one and multi act plays.

Who can belong???

You can! If you have a desire for drama in any aspect we invite you to participate. There are many opportunities for actors, backstage workers, running lights or sound, design sets or costumes. The actors “on stage” are only a small part of the drama ministry at Eastside.

What do we do???

Our goal is to help enhance the weekly Sunday sermons through drama. Short 5-7 minute skits are performed at least once a month.

Full production plays are a great opportunity to involve a lot more people. We normally try to have a 90 minute Christmas or Easter production.  These require auditions for the major roles.  The children’s drama ministry presents programs throughout the year.

Hell House was a huge success & provided the community a different way to see the message of God.

Through the year we have mystery dinner theatres which are very well received by the cast, audience & town. These can also be done as a fundraiser for the drama ministry.
